The Solent Comes To Life.

The Solent has come to life again with some great local catches.
Steve Perry has been in the thick of the Sea Trout action with this lovely 8lb fish from the Solent.

The fish fell to a large bait fished close to the rocks.
Next we have Adam Fadli with a fantastic 17lb Smoothhound caught locally.

Adam has had some great fish this year and his species targeting is always great fun to watch.

Kayak Crazy In Southampton Water.

Hythe pier has been offering some great sport in the last couple of weeks for the local Kayak Anglers.

With reports of Bass up to 3lb 4ozs from Nigel Lewis it appears that there is some great sport to be had right on our doorstep!

Today Mark Quillam and his two sons headed out to the end of the pier in their Kayaks and had a great days sport.

The bait of choice was Sandeel and Ragworm but artificial baits also came up well for bites with Sam catching some very good Mackerel in mid water on artificials. Mark also got the Fly rod out for some action and managed a couple of Bass on that from the surface layers.

They caught Bass, Mackerel and Herring from the spot over a 4 hour session. Who knew there was so much Kayak fishing sport in Southampton water!?
