Specimen Carp Hunting At It's Best.

(Before I begin please remember that if you click on an image it will enlarge so that you can really get a great view of these magnificent fish)

The bait company CC Moore are showing no signs of slowing down with their now famous Odyssey XXX boilies. The bait is still helping with the capture of some of the largest fish in our area by some of the best known anglers.

First up we have Jamie Walker who has taken his latest lake by storm and with a string of 20lb plus fish and 30lb plus fish it was only a matter of time until he found some forties!

Jamie’s approach is not always the norm but whatever he tries seems to work, he is very meticulous with his rigs and also his photography.

Here in this first pic we see his face as he lifts his latest capture from the water safe in a carp sack.

And here is the fish… this picture caused quite a storm on the networking website “Facebook” when it was posted we received emails and phone calls from friends and customers wanting information on this fish and also to congratulate him on his success.

The glorious common weighed 43lb 8ozs and looked stunning in the pictures.

This next fish also fell to CC Moore’s bait and the angler in question was local angler Greg Alexander. Greg has struggled with his pursuit of common carp in the past but certainly made up for it with this one!!

This magnificent fish known as “The Baby Common” pulled the scales round to a whopping 47lb 8ozs and once again the picture has come out very, very well.

Greg has been fishing fairly hard for various specimen fish over the last year and I believe he is chasing Crucian Carp at the moment.
Well done Greg.

Finally we have Jamie again with a fish known as “The King” this fish has not been out for a while and Jamie was pleased to inform us that he landed it twice in as many weeks…. On form or what!?

Just check out the smile that Jamie is wearing.

And here is the fish, a truly massive mirror from a reputable lake. The fish weighed in at a whopping 46lb 10ozs. Once again XXX bait was responsible.

I hope you have enjoyed the big fish round up and hopefully we will have some more big fish for you soon.

Many Thanks.

Kayak Comedy Caper Staring Bradders And Paul.

Hi Folks

Sorry I haven’t spoken to you for a while, it has been very busy in the shop.
Here is an amusing tale about how not to Kayak fish from the Solent sent to us by Paul. Enjoy.

Fellow fishermen,

Just thought I’d get the real story in before Bradders twists the truth.

Went out yesterday afternoon kayak fishing with Damon and Bradders, we were looking very slick, all kayaked up, rods out the back, choppy but nice.

Bradders had a 3 foot rod and the biggest beach casting reel imaginable, consequently he was ready before Damon and myself, Bradders therefore headed off into the big blue returning 5 minutes later with a birds nest attached to the reel, typically he blamed me and said it was because I was taking too long to get ready.

Anyway after fifteen minutes of unravelling and swearing from Bradders we headed down the Southampton waterway, an hour later I heard an excited high pitched scream from Bradders, my first thought was he’s game on as I could see him peering into the depths, my second thought was where is his fishing rod, yes it was over side and gone deep, this again appeared to have been my fault as I hadn’t given him a rod leash.

He then floated around for about half an hour sulking so I gave him my spare rod.

Whilst I was catching my two school bass, I ignored Bradders as he was very excited at catching a very small bass and persistently denying I had caught anything despite photographic evidence.

I then heard another very high pitched squeal from Bradders, praying he hadn't dropped my rod too, I looked over to his kayak and noticed Bradders wasn’t on it, he had Clouseau-esque fallen overboard, I paddled over and secured his kayak whilst he swam off to recover his paddle.

Unable to climb back on board his kayak because of all the kit, he passed me the contents of his kayak which included a large truncheon (bigger than his rod) which he said was was for stunning the big fish he caught. After nearly capsizing me he managed to get back on his kayak.

We fished for another half hour before he complained of hypothermia and we paddled back up to the hard.

If you ever want to go kayaking, go with Bradders it was the funniest afternoon in years.

Honest Paul (catcher of two bass)
