Hythe
pier has been offering some great sport in the last couple of weeks for the
local Kayak Anglers.
With
reports of Bass up to 3lb 4ozs from Nigel Lewis it appears that there is some
great sport to be had right on our doorstep!
Today
Mark Quillam and his two sons headed out to the end of the pier in their Kayaks
and had a great days sport.
The
bait of choice was Sandeel and Ragworm but artificial baits also came up well
for bites with Sam catching some very good Mackerel in mid water on artificials. Mark also got the Fly rod out for some action and managed a couple of Bass on that from the surface layers.
They
caught Bass, Mackerel and Herring from the spot over a 4 hour session. Who knew
there was so much Kayak fishing sport in Southampton water!?
