Spring Catch Reports.

Catch Reports.

Boat News:

Things are hitting up along the south coast and the fish are starting to arrive.

Anchorman Charter has seen the fish arrive over the last few weeks with the arrival of some nice Blonde Rays.

They have also seen Smoothhound arriving in numbers but nothing big yet. Dave has a lot of trips booked throughout the summer but there are still spaces available. He is particularly keen on catching some larger Black Bream this year to add to his busy customer gallery.

Shore News:

Local angler Steve Perry has been hard at it recently and started off his Spring campaign with a few nice fish. Steve fished our local Lepe Beach recently and along with Paul Swainston they had some great results.
Paul had Smoothhound and Bass and Steve had Bass and Rays.

The guys will be fishing frequently this year and I’m sure we will have more fish to show you from them.

Lure News:

At this time of year our local Bass Lure anglers come into contact with some travelling species. Fishing with lures at Magazine Lane, Marchwood will usually bring you some smaller juvenile Bass that offer good sport on a light sub 30 gram lure rod but this time of year every year we are plagued with migrating Sea Trout.

These beautiful looking fish are more than happy to attack lures presented in front of them but they will also get caught on strips of squid and even bread.

All the fish pictured were returned alive and unharmed they are a good bit of sport on light rods but to be honest they do get in the way of fishing for our target species Bass.

Many Thanks.
